South African Music Awards 2024 Winners

The 2024 South African Music Awards took place at the Gallagher Convention Centre in Midrand, South Africa, with Tyla winning four awards including Best Pop Album and Newcomer of the Year. Kabza De Small and Mthunzi also received multiple awards. Other winners included Ugatsheni for Male Artist of the Year, Lwah Ndlunkulu for Best Afro Pop Album, QueDj for Best Gqom Album, and Priddy Ugly for Best Hip Hop Album. Gospel artists like Omega Khunou and Xolly Mncwango won in their categories, with Ladysmith Black Mambazo receiving Best African Indigenous Faith Album. Steve Dyer’s album earned him the Best Jazz Album award while Skyes and Francois van Coke won in the Kwaito and Rock categories. Lifetime Achievement Awards were presented to Sipho Makhabane and Ringo Madlingozi.Below is the full list of winners:

Celebrating Diversity in South African Storytelling: 18th SAFTA

18th South African Television and Film Awards. Acting, directing, writing, and technical brilliance are just a few of the categories in which these awards honor excellence in the South African film and television industries. The SAFTAs are a significant occasion for showcasing South African narrative and talent.
The first season of Shaka iLembe, South Africa’s most costly TV program to date, earned its high price tag with 12 awards at the 18th South African Film and Television Awards (SAFTAs). Yoh!, Christmas on Netflix and Outlaws on Showmax came in second with eight Golden Horns each.
